Doreen Lioy is a twin, catholic, and romantic. What happened to her? 

Lioy fell in love with Richard Ramirez through letters sent furiously back and forth while on death row. Allegedly she had written upwards of 75 letters. Lioy was attracted to Ramirez because of the vulnerability she thought she saw on TV. Lioy had been a magazine editor before she gave up everything to marry the Nightstalker. Including her dream of having her own family. 

Lily's family disowned her because of her loyalty to Ramirez, including her twin. 

Ramirez proposed to her in 1988, but they did not marry until 1996. The wedding was in jail, and only Ramirez's brother, sister, niece, lawyers, and a book author were there. The ceremony was only 15 minutes, and afterward, the bride went home, and the groom shuffled back to his prison cell. Lioy wore a short white dress, and they exchanged rings that Lioy had purchased. 

Mrs. Ramirez began her campaign to convince the world that Ramirez was innocent. Mrs. Ramirez was rumored to purchase him clothes, speak to the press on his behalf, and more. It was clear that she was convinced he did not do what he was accused of. Ramirez was sentenced to death in 1989, and Mrs. Ramirez was rumored to have threatened suicide when Ramirez was put to death. It seems Mrs. Ramirez was so lonely that she was desperate for a husband, even if it was the Nightstalker. Then she lived in a fantasy about who he was. 

That is until 2009-2010. After 13 years of marriage, she cut ties after DNA evidence linking Ramirez to the most heinous crimes on his list of victims. A 9-year-old girl he brutally killed and tortured. Ramirez refused visitors after Lioy allegedly cut ties, and she vanished. They never divorced. 

After Ramirez's 2013 death, nobody had come forward to claim his body. The only other mention was in her father's 2019 obituary, where she is listed as Doreen Ramirez. There was no mention of her online either except by Ramirez fans who criticized her looks and called her cruel names. 

Where is Doreen Ramirez, and is she healthy and safe?
